Psychologist, coach or mentor: which conversation do you need?
A short English overview of the guide, and of the online sessions with Frank that it points to.
Read this first
This site is a guide from djursland-psykologen.dk. It describes the difference between three kinds of conversation, and the online sessions with the psychologist Frank that are offered there. You are reading a guide from a psychology practice. The full guide is in Danish.
The three in brief
The psychologist
Works with you as a person. Conversations can be about work, but also about what lies behind it: how you react, what you carry, and why something weighs as it does.
The coach
Typically works with goals, choices and action, often around a wanted change and a time frame.
The mentor
Shares their own experience, giving you a way into a world they know from the inside.
None of the three is better in itself. They answer different questions, and many leaders benefit from more than one over a working life. In Denmark the title authorised psychologist is protected, and an authorisation can be checked by anyone.
Sessions in English
The sessions with Frank can be held in English, both online and in Mørke on Djursland. Online is the main format, which means you can speak to him from anywhere. Evening sessions in Mørke are possible for those who prefer to meet in person. Either way there is a fixed weekly evening slot and the same psychologist throughout. Online sessions are video conversations: you need a stable connection and a place where nobody can overhear you.
Typical clients are leaders, founders, busy professionals and international profiles who want to understand themselves better, or who are carrying something that does not fit anywhere else. You do not need a crisis, and you do not need to know in advance what to talk about.
What you can focus on
- How you react under pressure, and what you tend to carry alone.
- Difficult decisions and the responsibility that comes with them.
- The distance between how you function outwardly and how you feel inwardly.
- Choices about direction, role and the balance between work and private life.
These are psychological conversations. They cannot guarantee a particular result.
